Best ever Grassland & Muck Event predicted as exhibitors snap up space
Grassland & Muck 2011 is on track to be the best event of its kind ever to be held in the UK.
Organised by the Royal Agricultural Society of England, and partnered by Yara, more than 90% of the stand space has now been booked for the event, which takes place on 18th and 19th May 2011, at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
In all, more than 200 exhibitors will be on site to discuss all things grass, from the latest forage harvesting, storage and feeding equipment to agronomy and varieties, as well as the latest in muck management and application. Visitors will also be able to see more than 10 sown demonstration plots.
Grassland and Muck will again live up to its billing as the biggest working machinery event in the UK. Leading manufacturers will put hundreds of mowers, tedders, foragers, balers, wrappers and telehandlers through their paces on 65 working grass plots across the 160-acre dedicated demonstration site.
“We are on track to deliver the best Grassland & Muck Event ever,” says RASE chief executive Brian Warren. “We are delighted with the strength of support shown by our exhibitors, and are expecting more than 12,000 farmers and contractors from Great Britain and Ireland over the two days.
“With margins under pressure from all sides, the event will provide plenty of timely advice for those looking to maximise the potential of forage and manures, keeping their businesses in the best shape.”
Supporting their second Grassland event, Yara’s marketing manager Rosie Carne said: “We are delighted to be the main partner of the Grassland & Muck Event where farmers can see the latest techniques to ensure they grow and harvest the quality and quantity of forage needed to meet their farm requirement.
“Yara has had a continuous R&D programme for more than 50 years, researching nutrient requirements of grass and forage for differing farming systems. With the current challenging economics, the importance and role of forage to produce meat and milk has possibly never been greater.”
A detailed seminar programme, sponsored by Keenan, will also address a series of topical technical and business issues to help visitors maximise production from grass.
Keenan marketing manager Max Ford says: "We will be using our sponsorship of the seminars to discuss the latest thinking in the 'eatability' of grass, the economic benefits of a perfectly combined total mixed ration (TMR) and using feed conversion efficiency as a management tool for delivering additional margin in volatile times.”
