Technical strength and industry commitment are just two of the attributes that Yara, the new sponsor for Grassland & Muck 2008, will bring to the event on 21 and 22 May 2008.
“Yara will be a very valuable sponsor because it is a company that delivers real innovation and leadership in grassland nutrition and management; which is a perfect fit for this unique field event,” says Alice Bell, Grassland Event Presenter for the Royal Agricultural Society of England.
Grassland & Muck 2008, which will extend over 190 acres of Stoneleigh Park, focuses on forage production for livestock feeding and the application of slurry and farm yard manure.
Many of the exhibitors use the two-day event to showcase the latest forage-harvesting machinery, storage and feeding equipment, as well as grass and forage agronomy plots. In addition there will be working demonstrations of muck handling and silage clamp equipment as well as technical seminars.
“Yara is delighted to be the event partner with the RASE for the UK’s premier grassland event, which is held every three years”, said Rosie Carne, Yara’s Marketing Manager. “The development of grassland fertilizers and recommendations has been an important part of our R&D Programme for many years, with the importance of the nutritional value of muck always taken in to account. Whether you are faming in an NVZ, growing grass for grazing or cutting, or indeed establishing grass, we have a range of recommendations and fertilizers formulated to meet all soil types and conditions, and it’s not just about yield. Fertilizer applications can be an effective way of getting trace elements into deficient herbage and therefore stock, as our trials work with selenium has shown. Analysis of soils and tissue can play an important role in fine-tuning fertilizer recommendations. Yara welcomes the opportunity to highlight and discuss these and further issues at the first event of our involvement on 21st and 22nd May 2008”.
As sponsors of Grassland & Muck 2008, Yara will work
closely with the RASE to deliver an event that tackles the issues
and opportunities the livestock sector is currently facing.
