Manure trial plots at the Grassland and Muck Event
The new Manure and Nutrient Management Centre at this year's Grassland and Muck Event will visually demonstrate the effect of different manure treatments to grass plots. Managed by the England Catchment Sensitive Farming Delivery Initiative, the trial plots will demonstrate the effects on silage grass of a heavy slurry application and a lighter slurry application with a top-up of fertilizer with normally fertilized and no input plots.
The Manure and Nutrient Management Centre will provide a focal point for technical information and practical guidelines for the economical and environmentally sustainable use of manures, essential for compliance with the proposed NVZ rules, Water Framework Directive and other environmental regulations.
